Adequate waste management
Information at WEEE (WASTE FROM ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT)
According to the Leitfaden des Bundesumweltministeriums (German Federal Environment Ministry guidelines), section 2.5 (page 11), as a manufacturer of electronic components for permanent installation in individually constructed and stationary systems, Wurm GmbH & Co.KG is, not a manufacturer as defined by European Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), and thus is fundamentally not bound by it. The responsibility for fulfilling the specified recycling quotas can only be borne by the manufacturer of the end product, insofar as it is subject to WEEE.
For the few devices which are not permanently installed and are subject to the legal requirements of WEEE, the registration number at EAR (Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register - Waste Electrical Equipment Register Foundation) is: DE 34453374.
These products will be given a statutory device
label in accordance with DIN EN 50419.
In order to satisfy the WEEE provisions in Austria, all OEM devices for the Austrian market will also receive this label.
We convey to the purchaser the obligation to dispose of these devices properly in accordance with the statutory regulations after the end of their use. The purchaser releases Wurm GmbH & Co.KG from its obligations according to section 3 § 10 numeral 2 of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG),
current version, and all associated claims by third parties. The purchaser must conclude a contractual agreement with any commercial third party to which he transfers the supplied goods specifying that after the end of use the third party must dispose of the goods properly at his own expense according to the statutory regulations, and must effect a further transfer of this obligation if the goods are transferred again. If the purchaser or a third party fails to transfer this obligation, then he is obligated to take the goods back and dispose of them properly at his own expense according to the statutory regulations.
Our claim to transfer/release by the purchaser or a third party shall not become time-barred any earlier than two years after the final end of use of the device. The two-year term of this suspension shall begin at the earliest when written notice of the end of use is received.
On request, we will take back the supplied goods after the end of use at your expense for proper disposal according to the statutory regulations.
We feel obligated to protect our environment and to handle natural resources responsibly. We will meet this obligation though a wide variety of measures, such as the recycling and re-use of repaired devices/device components in our repair/exchange business.
We would be happy to answer any other questions you might have.
