Tradition and Change
The family-owned business, Wurm, was founded in 1872 at the location where it is based today. It began as a saw factory in Remscheid, a city with a long tool-making industry tradition.
The company founder's descendents have always recognised and reacted to the signs of the times. Consequently, when saw production began to decline in Germany, the company successfully changed over to the production of electric switching systems in 1960. During the 1980s, a new chapter began in the company's history. The great-grandson of the company founder led the company into the world of micro-electronics.
Today, the company Wurm-Systeme counts among the leading developers of automation systems for refrigeration systems and for the building services engineering management of food marts, enjoying a high level of prestige in Germany and Europe. A strongly motivated and well- trained team of technicians and engineers work on improving existing products and developing new innovations.
